Heating Units Support Rapid Response Times for Questa Fire Department

  • Local Champion: Village Of Questa
  • Date Funded: August 29, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $18,047

Questa’s Fire Department maintains five fire trucks, which the department’s volunteers use to provide 24-hour service to the community. However, during the winter months, their response times are often delayed because the trucks’ water tanks must be emptied between calls to prevent them from freezing and causing irreparable damage to the engines.

Recognizing that, in a crisis, every second counts, Questa’s Fire Chief reached out to LOR with a solution: purchase and install modern, efficient heating units that will enable the fire department to keep the engines stocked with water and ensure quicker response times during emergencies.

LOR’s support will fund the purchase and installation of five natural gas heating units, helping the Fire Department to protect life and property in Questa all year round.
