Basketball Training Equipment Improves Skills for All Ages in Libby

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: July 14, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,053

Basketball is popular among Libby residents of all ages, but providing comprehensive skill development for the community’s many players is challenging with limited coaching staff in town. Libby Middle High School’s basketball coach wanted to create new training opportunities that could benefit everyone from youth teams to adult leagues, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Libby Middle High School purchase an automatic basketball rebounding and shooting machine that will serve more than 40 high school players while also being available during open gym sessions for community members. The equipment will allow players of all skill levels to practice independently while coaches focus on other aspects of training, improving basketball skills and fitness throughout the community.
