Food Pantry Updates Foster Dignity and Food Security in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: La Puente Home, Inc.
  • Date Funded: November 27, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $14,652

With grocery costs continuing to rise, the Monte Vista Community Food Pantry has seen a steady increase in the number of local families and individuals accessing their services each month. The growing number of pantry visitors and a turnover in organizational leadership prompted the organization to reevaluate its goals and operations and ultimately reach out to LOR with ideas to improve the experience of Monte Vista residents utilizing the pantry.

The LOR Foundation will fund additional shelving units, stainless steel tables, produce carts, shopping carts and bags, and a check-out counter (to support a client choice food pantry model), as well as the installation of an HVAC system.
