Community Workshops Bridge the Gap Between Schools and Families in Questa

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: August 20, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,998

Strong student outcomes depend on collaboration between schools, families, and the community—but in Questa, connections between district staff and the broader community have become strained, making it more difficult to recruit volunteers and work together in support of students.

Recognizing the toll this disconnect was taking on engagement and morale, administrators reached out to LOR for support. With LOR’s funding, the Questa Independent School District will hire professional facilitators to lead quarterly parent workshops, community trainings, family engagement nights, and volunteer mentoring programs. These efforts will strengthen relationships between families and educators, foster trust, and build a collaborative support network that helps every student thrive—both academically and personally.
