Anti-Gravity Classes Address Women’s Health Needs in Lander Community

  • Local Champion: Lander local
  • Date Funded: August 19, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,800

Many Lander women experience pelvic floor weakness after childbirth, but lack access to affordable resources and education to address these health concerns. After discovering how anti-gravity exercises helped her own recovery and seeing similar needs among other women in the community, one registered nurse specializing in women’s health had an idea to make these classes accessible to everyone. Using her medical background to combine fitness with education about anatomy and pelvic floor health, she planned to offer free weekly classes and workshops that don’t require expensive gym memberships. This approach provides women across different ages and economic situations with crucial health education, creating a supportive community focused on improving physical and emotional wellbeing. LOR’s funding helped with the purchase of specialized hammocks and ceiling hardware, along with space rental costs at the Lander Yoga Collective for one year.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Lander Community Foundation.
