Ankle Braces Help Save Libby’s Volleyball Athletes—and Their Seasons

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: April 14, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,800

Each year, Libby’s youth volleyball teams experience roughly 30 ankle injuries, sidelining players for practices, games, and potentially contributing to future ankle issues. While ankle braces like ARYSE Internal Functional Anatomic Stabilizing Technology (IFAST), help prevent or minimize sprains, they’re also expensive. The school district doesn’t have the budget to these high-tech ankle savers for every player, and many families can’t afford them on their own. So Libby’s high school coach approached LOR with an idea: What if the district purchased enough ARYSE IFASTs to support all of the players each year? (The equipment is washable so can be reused every year.) With LOR’s support, 60 IFASTs will be ready to support Libby ballers.
