An Art Installation Celebrates Libby’s Heritage

  • Local Champion: A Libby local
  • Date Funded: January 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $3,970

Libby’s northeastern entrance along Highway 37 welcomes residents and visitors to town, but it lacks artwork that highlights Libby’s rich tradition and deep logging history. One local resident wanted to create a display that celebrated Libby for travelers, so he came up with the idea to install a metal statue of a logger to honor the industry that helped shape Libby’s economy and culture. LOR’s funding supported the design and installation of the statue, creating a visual reminder of Libby’s heritage for all of those who drive along Highway 37.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Kootenai Country Montana.
