A Wellness Coaching Program Helps Libby Residents Get Active

  • Local Champion: The Kootenai Cross Country Ski Club
  • Date Funded: February 20, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Many Libby residents do not get the physical activity they need, and few free or low-cost wellness programs are available to those who cannot afford gym memberships or personal training. Two local organizations—the Kootenai Nordic Club and Lincoln County Health Department—wanted to help residents lead healthier lives, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Kootenai Nordic Club hire certified wellness coaches to deliver a 10-week program for up to 27 participants, including individual coaching sessions, group activities, and customized training plans. The program will help participants build sustainable exercise habits while also serving as a pilot data-collection effort, providing Lincoln County with information that can guide future grant applications, policy decisions, and health department priorities.
