A Van Expands Access to Land Stewardship for Taos Youth

  • Local Champion: Taos Land Trust
  • Date Funded: March 3, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $28,000

Transportation barriers prevent many Taos youth and volunteers from participating in local land stewardship activities, limiting opportunities for conservation education and community service. When Taos Land Trust staff recognized this challenge, they developed a solution to expand access to programming across the community. In need of support, they reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help Taos Land Trust purchase a multi-passenger van to transport participants to conservation sites, local farms, and community gardens, ensuring that transportation challenges no longer prevent Taos residents from connecting with the land and learning valuable stewardship skills.
