A Van Helps Cortez Seniors and Disabled Residents Get Their Pets to the Vet

  • Local Champion: Obe's Angels
  • Date Funded: April 14, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $20,000

Many Cortez seniors and residents with disabilities rely on their pets for companionship but struggle to get them to veterinary appointments without reliable transportation. After years of helping seniors access vet care using her own vehicle, one rescue director saw a solution and reached out to LOR with her idea. LOR’s funding will help Obe’s Angels Rescue purchase a used van to provide free veterinary transportation for Cortez seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income residents. The van will serve at least 100 people and their pets in the first year, ensuring residents and their furry family members can access timely care.
