A Photo Guide Helps Cortez Families Find Food Resources

  • Local Champion: Cortez Cultural Center
  • Date Funded: July 24, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,348

Many Cortez residents are unaware of the various food assistance programs available in the community, even as family budgets become increasingly tight and more people need these essential services. When planning their annual “Everybody Eats” event, volunteers at the Cortez Cultural Center recognized this information gap, so they reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Cortez Cultural Center hire a professional photographer to document local food assistance organizations like Good Samaritan Center, Hope’s Kitchen, and the Bridge Emergency Shelter. The images will be compiled into a comprehensive resource guide and distributed to families throughout Cortez, while also providing participating organizations with professional photographs to promote their services and reach more people in need.
