A New Website Connects Cortez Landowners to Important Resources

  • Local Champion: Mancos Conservation District
  • Date Funded: December 18, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $30,000

Small- and large-acreage landowners in Cortez often struggle to access water and land management information due to the similarity of local agencies’ missions and the lack of communication tools between those agencies and the public. To address this issue, a member of the Mancos Conservation District brought forward a potential solution: create a website to provide clear communication to local landowners to improve their access to resources, enhance education about their properties, identify agency contacts, and more. With LOR’s support, the website will use GIS mapping to help individuals better understand their land.
