A Mobile Culinary Kitchen Offers Classes to Help Lander Youth Get Cooking

  • Local Champion: Project Carpe Diem
  • Date Funded: December 12, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $3,950

While culinary arts classes are available to Lander high school students, many younger Landerites do not have the opportunity to learn basic cooking skills until then. Two local volunteers working with Project Carpe Diem came up with a clever solution: Launch free monthly, mobile cooking classes for grades three through eight. They just needed a little help to get, well, cooking. LOR’s support will help cover the cost of kitchen equipment like hot plates, oven mitts, etc., as well as ingredients, and some marketing materials.
