A League Of Their Own: Libby Starts a Softball League for Younger Players

Libby youth under age 12 do not have access to a softball league, leaving younger players with no way to gain skills, access coaching, or be part of a team. While the local Krushers softball team offers an opportunity for older girls, the youngest generation would benefit from playing earlier—something that has become apparent as the Krushers have played competitive teams that have had development opportunities at a younger age. A local coach recognized this issue but lacked the equipment to get another team started. With LOR’s help, the Krushers purchased balls, hitting tees, hitting nets, helmets, masks, bats, uniforms, and more to start a 12 and under team.
