A Lander Church Creates a Much-Needed After-School Program

  • Local Champion: The Rock Church
  • Date Funded: December 16, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $23,105

For middle and high schoolers who don’t play sports in Lander, they have very few options for safe, accessible after-school activities. With this in mind, a local pastor at the Rock Church wanted to help fill that void by designing an after-school program for kids who are out of elementary school. In order to make the idea a reality, though, the church needed equipment to create a space where kids would want to spend time. With help from the LOR Foundation, they purchased games for kids to play, including a foosball table, air hockey, a used pool table, an arcade machine, and more. Plus, the church used funding to provide healthy meals for 25 to 35 kids each day.
