A Grant Expert Helps Libby Sustain Its Parks

  • Local Champion: Libby Parks District
  • Date Funded: January 28, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,000

Libby residents enjoy abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, but the community has never had dedicated funding to maintain these valuable assets. That was all set to change when the Libby Parks District secured long-term funding for a parks manager position. The problem? A new parks manager couldn’t start until after key grant deadlines had passed—potentially leaving Libby’s recreation areas without maintenance funding for another year. The president of Libby Parks District had a solution, so he reached out to LOR for help. LOR’s funding will help the district hire a temporary expert to apply for grants and set up initial recreation and maintenance programs before spring. The stopgap will ensure Libby’s trails, parks, and recreation areas have the resources they need to serve the community now and into the future.
