A Cortez Music Library Sustains Free Community Performances

For years, the Four Corners Community Band’s music library—more than 250 pieces of sheet music—has been housed in a single member’s home and garage, leaving the collection scattered and difficult for the band’s 40-plus volunteers to access. One band member and former LOR champion raised the need at a community meeting and found a solution: a permanent music library. LOR’s funding will help the Four Corners Community Band purchase music storage cabinets, sheet music storage boxes, music library software, and a dedicated computer to catalog and manage the collection. The band will create a permanent library space at Lamp Post Creative Learning Center, consolidating the band’s music, instruments, and equipment under one roof for reliable access.
