Young Leaders Launch Free Etiquette Program for Lander Elementary Students

  • Local Champion: Lander locals
  • Date Funded: January 24, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,002

In Lander, Project Carpe Diem‘s etiquette classes, which are designed for middle and high school students, have become so popular that the younger siblings of participants want to start learning these skills, too. After participating in the program’s dinners and dances themselves, two 13-year-old Lander locals saw an opportunity to share what they’d learned with elementary school children by creating monthly Poetry Tea Time sessions. Each session will feature tea and treats, poetry and art, crafts, a lesson in etiquette, and the opportunity to practice the new skills. The pair just needed a little help to launch the program, so they reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help purchase supplies—including tea sets, books, and art materials—enabling these young leaders to host free monthly gatherings at the Learning Resource Library.
