STEM Equipment Sparks Curiosity for Cortez Youth

  • Local Champion: City of Cortez
  • Date Funded: October 15, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Cortez youth have limited access to hands-on STEM learning that develops critical thinking skills and prepares them for future careers in science and technology. Seeing growing interest in STEM among students and parents, staff with the Cortez Public Library reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Cortez Public Library purchase 10 laptops, two 3D printers, 20 robotics kits, two gaming PCs, and a gaming table. The new equipment will allow the library to offer free programs in 3D printing, robotics, and game design, providing valuable training that will open doors for students.
