Sound Systems Help All Lander Residents Hear 4th of July Parade

  • Local Champion: Lander Old Timer's Rodeo Association
  • Date Funded: June 8, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,876

In Lander, thousands of people gather on Main Street for the 4th of July parade—the biggest event of the year—but most can’t hear the parade commentary because only one sound system covers the 10-block stretch. When the longtime parade coordinator struggled for years to find a way for spectators to hear important information about the floats and their history, a community member suggested she reach out to LOR for support. The solution is to install three sound systems strategically placed along Main Street so everyone from the parade’s starting point to 2nd Street can hear the announcing. LOR’s funding will help purchase the PA systems, which will also be available for other community events like the rodeo and stored conveniently at the rodeo grounds for easy access. By giving all Lander residents the chance to hear and fully participate in this beloved tradition, these sound systems strengthen one of the community’s most important celebrations.
