Software Platform Increases Efficiency and Communication for Monte Vista Kids Connection Community

  • Local Champion: The City of Monte Vista Kids Connection
  • Date Funded: September 27, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,861

Kids Connection—the only state-licensed after-school program for kids ages 5 through 18 in the San Luis Valley—serves approximately 75 students daily at no cost to their families. As the number of children enrolled with Kids Connection has continued to increase, the organization recognized the need to streamline its processes and improve its connection with families using an integrated software platform rather than relying on pen and paper, printed handouts, and posts to social media to manage operations and communicate with caregivers. So, a Kids Connection employee reached out to LOR with a solution: purchase a software subscription that will enable the team to track attendance, manage important documents, and engage families through real-time updates, especially in crucial moments like emergencies and closures due to inclement weather.

LOR’s funding will cover a one-year subscription to ProCare (to be funded through the city moving forward) and the cost of four new mounted tablets, improving Kids Connection’s ability to serve the community by positively impacting everything from program registration to ongoing communications and operations.
