Sleeping Quarters Enable Round-the-Clock Emergency Coverage in Buffalo

  • Local Champion: Johnson County Rural Health Care District
  • Date Funded: September 29, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,000

Though Buffalo’s new ambulance barn was built with overnight staffing in mind, the facility currently falls short: The sleeping rooms for EMTs on evening and night shifts sit empty. One Buffalo EMS staff member reached out to LOR with a solution: furnish all three sleeping rooms. LOR’s funding will help Buffalo EMS purchase bed frames, mattresses, wardrobes, desks, bedding, and other necessary supplies to make the sleeping quarters functional. The investments will allow Buffalo’s EMTs to rest on-site between calls, supporting dependable 24-hour ambulance coverage for Buffalo and the surrounding area.
