Sidewalks and Parking Improve Access to Hospice Services in Cortez

  • Local Champion: Hospice of Montezuma
  • Date Funded: November 24, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,952

Cortez residents with mobility challenges face barriers to accessing Hospice of Montezuma’s building due to its uneven parking lot and missing sidewalks. Staff with the organization wanted to reduce potential falling risk and ensure residents could access services, so they reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Hospice of Montezuma install a gravel parking lot and concrete sidewalks. The improvements will ensure community members can safely access bereavement support, caregiver resources, and other free services regardless of mobility challenges or weather conditions.
