Extraction Equipment Saves Lives in Weiser

  • Local Champion: Weiser Area Rural Fire District
  • Date Funded: March 18, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

The Weiser Area Rural Fire District lacks the specialized extraction equipment needed to safely rescue people trapped in vehicles, trenches, or high-angle situations. One volunteer firefighter recognized that the problem would delay critical rescues and put both victims and first responders at risk, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Weiser Area Rural Fire District purchase bipod and monopod kits that expand the department’s rescue capabilities for vehicle extractions and other emergencies, keeping the growing community safe.
