A Safety Clinic Teaches Weiser’s Scooter Riders the Rules of the Road

  • Local Champion: Friends of the Chamber of Commerce
  • Date Funded: March 26, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $8,500

More Weiser children and young adults are riding electric scooters without helmets or safety training, endangering themselves, pedestrians, and motorists. After watching unsafe scooter use increase over several years, one community advocate reached out to LOR with a solution. LORs funding will help Friends of the Weiser Chamber of Commerce launch an annual free scooter safety clinic that provides helmets and protective gear to participants. The event will partner with an existing bike clinic to teach comprehensive street safety education, building safer riding habits for Weiser’s young people.
