Salt Spreader Makes Winter Roads Safer for Questa Students

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: November 13, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $5,500

The Questa school district maintains two roads that lead to school buildings in the community. The maintenance of these roads is essential to keeping drivers, bikers, and pedestrians safe, especially during winter. However, the school lacked the necessary snow and ice mitigation equipment to keep the roads clear, so the superintendent contacted LOR with a solution: purchase a salt spreader that could be affixed to the district’s existing snow plow. With LOR’s funding, the school purchased the salt spreader, which will keep the roads and parking lots surrounding Questa schools safer for years to come.
