Widening and Packing Open the Weiser River Trail to More Residents

  • Local Champion: Friends of the Weiser River Trail
  • Date Funded: June 11, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $30,000

The unpaved section of the Weiser River Trail has narrowed over time and filled with large rocks, making it unsafe and inaccessible for walkers, cyclists, and wheelchair users who want to enjoy the trail. Hoping to open the community resource to more residents and visitors, one Friends of the Weiser River Trail volunteer reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Friends of the Weiser River Trail hire contractors to widen, clear, and gravel-pack two miles of trail, creating a hard, compact surface more suitable and safer for all Weiser residents and visitors.
