River Signs Protect Libby Recreators and Emergency Responders

  • Local Champion: Libby Parks District
  • Date Funded: June 26, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $6,000

Along the Kootenai River, Libby’s boat launches and recreation kiosks have insufficient safety signage, placing both recreators and emergency responders risk. One Libby Parks District staff member recognized this public safety gap, so he reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the parks district purchase and install eleven metal signs along the Kootenai River. The signs will provide clear information on pull-out locations and danger zones, improving the recreational experience for river users and reducing pressure on first responders.
