Reading Tables Help Libby Sixth Graders Learn Together

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: October 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $2,500

Many Libby sixth graders struggle to stay engaged when reading alone, especially as texts become longer and more complex. One teacher wanted to create a learning environment where students could support one another through peer collaboration, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Libby Elementary School purchase 14 paired reading tables designed to group students of different abilities together. The new classroom setup will allow students to build reading fluency and comprehension together, giving stronger readers a chance to reinforce their skills while struggling readers receive immediate peer support.
