Portable Ramps Help Weiser Residents Recover at Home

  • Local Champion: Love INC of Washington County
  • Date Funded: March 19, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,957

Many Weiser residents who need temporary ramps for medical recovery or end-of-life care face prohibitive costs, forcing difficult choices about their living arrangements. Love INC of Washington County owns one borrowable ramp that has consistently been in high demand from residents. Because of the need, the group has often been forced to turn down requests. To address the problem, staff with Love INC came up with a solution and reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help Love INC purchase two modular aluminum ramp systems that can be configured to meet various home layouts. The portable ramps will allow Weiser residents to safely remain in their homes during medical recovery, with a team of volunteers managing setup, teardown, and relocation to serve as many community members as possible.
