Play Equipment Plants Seeds with Libby’s Young Families

  • Local Champion: Farmers Market at Libby
  • Date Funded: August 1, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,450

The Farmers Market at Libby and the annual Kootenai Harvest Festival attract local vendors and shoppers, but families with children often make quick visits because there’s little to keep kids entertained while parents browse. In the past, organizers have borrowed games or used temporary solutions like hay bales, but farmers market staff wanted to create a dedicated space that would draw more families to community events. In need of support, they reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help the Farmers Market at Libby purchase permanent play equipment—including games and picnic tables—for a “Kid’s Zone” at both the weekly market and harvest festival. The family-friendly space will encourage parents to spend more time shopping with local vendors while children enjoy activities designed just for them.
