Sound Equipment Helps Bring Weiser’s Fiddle Fest Back to Life

  • Local Champion: National Oldtime Fiddlers, Inc
  • Date Funded: March 2, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $8,300

Weiser’s beloved National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest and Festival—which once drew over 15,000 visitors and tripled the town’s population each June—has declined significantly since COVID-19. But one local has made it her mission to revitalize the community celebration. Her first problem? After the previous organizers retired, the festival lost its sound equipment. Seeing a straightforward solution, she reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the National Oldtime Fiddlers purchase professional sound equipment including speakers and microphones. The equipment will not only help restore the festival but it will also support free community events throughout the year, strengthening local community involvement.
