Paint Supplies Support Senior Workshops in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: A Monte Vista local
  • Date Funded: June 13, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,813

Participation in Monte Vista’s free community senior paint workshops continues to swell, but the growing community interest has created a new problem for the program. To date, the local business owner who launched the popular workshops has covered all of the program’s costs out of pocket. But providing all of the supplies has proved increasingly challenging as more seniors have joined the workshops. Hoping to further expand access to the free program, the Monte Vista local came up with a solution. LOR’s funding helped purchase paint, canvases, brushes, easels, and other supplies for the monthly workshops. The additional supplies will ensure that any Monte Vista senior aged 60 and older can participate at no cost, allowing more residents to explore their creativity and build meaningful connections with a supportive community.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Optimystics Citizens Action Network.
