“Paint it Pink” Fun Run Promotes Breast Cancer Screenings in Libby

  • Local Champion: Cabinet Peaks Medical Center
  • Date Funded: August 12, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

Libby’s annual Paint it Pink Fun Run has helped to provide free breast cancer screenings for uninsured Libby women since 2007, but this year’s rendition was at risk of falling through after the event lost its primary sponsor and organizer. Without the fundraising event, Cabinet Peaks Medical Center couldn’t offer free mammograms and diagnostic services to women facing financial and insurance barriers. Staff with the medical center wanted to ensure this vital community health service continued, so they reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Cabinet Peaks Medical Center purchase the equipment and supplies needed to host the 2025 Paint it Pink event, including safety gear, hydration stations, and promotional materials. The event will not only raise funds for free screenings but also help the medical center secure sponsorships and additional funding to sustain this important community health initiative for years to come.
