Newspaper Feature Celebrates Influential Women in Questa

Women in Questa rarely receive public recognition for their leadership, volunteer work, and behind-the-scenes efforts, resulting in limited visibility of their contributions and fewer opportunities to highlight local role models who strengthen the community. When the local newspaper staff heard concerns that women’s civic efforts were going unnoticed, they had an idea: create a recurring feature to honor these influential community members.

LOR’s funding helped Questa del Rio News establish a monthly recognition series that uses a community-driven nomination process to honor women whose efforts improve the quality of life in Questa. This ongoing visibility now promotes a culture of appreciation and civic pride, while inspiring emerging female leaders and encouraging greater community engagement.
