New Uniforms Keep Costs Down for Lander Youth Baseball Players

  • Local Champion: Lander Legions Baseball League
  • Date Funded: February 19, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,000

In Lander, baseball’s popularity continues to surge, with the Lander Legends Legion program doubling in size as it enters its third season. The program works hard to keep costs affordable, charging just over $200 for a season that includes 30 games, daily practices, and bus transportation to away games—but uniforms are now in need of replacement, which comes with an additional cost. When a parent volunteer realized the team couldn’t afford to replace the uniforms this year without raising fees, she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help purchase new gray pants, hats for outfielders, additional jerseys, and properly sized uniforms for the six coaches who’ve been squeezing into youth sizes. This investment ensures participation remains affordable while supporting a growing program that provides young players significant game time and development opportunities.
