New Safety Plans Will Keep Taos Locals Safe During Public Events

  • Local Champion: Taos County Chamber of Commerce
  • Date Funded: December 2, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $2,000

As public events have grown in size in the wake of the pandemic, Taos leaders have shared concerns about large events in the plaza and the safety of those attending. To address the problem, one local brought forward the idea of creating an emergency operations plan, which would detail safety protocols and training to meet a new standard set forth by the Town of Taos governing body. LOR’s funding was used to hire a subject matter expert to create these safety guidelines, a resource that can be used by any organization hosting a public event in Taos.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Taos Community Foundation
