Mystery Writing Sparks Student Creativity and Literacy at Weiser’s Pioneer School

  • Local Champion: Pioneer School
  • Date Funded: September 30, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $2,198

Teachers at Weiser’s Pioneer School struggle to engage young students in writing and help them develop essential literacy skills, problems compounded by the school’s limited budget. When one second grade teacher discovered an engaging interactive writing program, she reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Pioneer purchase Discovery Education’s “Mystery Writing” curriculum. The program uses technology to make writing more fun, engaging, and relevant, helping teachers at Pioneer improve and measure student writing skills.
