Music Technology Course Unlocks Opportunities for Taos Students

  • Local Champion: Taos Municipal Schools
  • Date Funded: September 26, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $22,520

Students at Taos High School have shown strong interest in music technology, recording, and sound engineering—fields that offer creative expression and promising career paths. While the school currently offers traditional band and mariachi courses, there’s growing demand for programs that explore modern music production, DJing, and audio engineering to help students develop these skills and explore related career opportunities.

In response, the school’s new Music Director reached out to LOR for support to bring the students’ vision to life.

With LOR’s help, Taos High will purchase professional equipment and software to launch its first Music and Technology course. The classroom will be outfitted with recording stations, mixing boards, digital audio workstations, and live sound equipment—giving students valuable hands-on experience, expanding their skills, and deepening their exploration of creative careers.
