Monthly Forums Build Bridge Between Lander Parents and School District

  • Local Champion: Lander local
  • Date Funded: March 11, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,850

In Lander, many parents struggle to effectively support their children’s education or navigate the school system, creating frustration and miscommunication between families and educators. After witnessing this challenge firsthand, one community volunteer had an idea to expand her grassroots parent support group, which had been operating on small donations for six years. LOR’s funding helped purchase resources for monthly expert-led forums, educational materials for a parent lending library, and community outreach to connect more families with crucial information. By creating a trusted space where parents can learn directly from district officials and education specialists, this program bridges the communication gap while empowering parents to become more effective advocates for their children’s educational needs.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation.
