Mariachi Music Strikes a Chord in Questa

When Questa’s school mariachi program ended, the community lost an important connection to its cultural heritage and musical traditions. But a retired teacher saw a new path to maintain Questa's musical and cultural identity. Her idea? Create a multigenerational community mariachi group. LOR’s funding helped the local and Localogy launch the Communities of Questa Mariachi Program, allowing the group to hire professional artists, secure practice space, and purchase instruments for participants. Questa residents will now have free access to mariachi classes and community performances, preserving cultural traditions while creating new connections across the community.
