Local Expertise Helps Libby Nonprofits Build Capacity

  • Local Champion: Montana Nonprofit Association, INC
  • Date Funded: January 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $3,500

Libby’s nonprofits work tirelessly to serve the growing community, but many lack the resources and connections they need to sustain and expand their programs. It’s a challenge many nonprofits across Montana share, which is why the Montana Nonprofit Association launched a new ambassador program to help rural organizations access statewide resources and build stronger networks. The problem is the program only had funding for 8 positions throughout the state, all of which quickly filled without an ambassador to support Libby and the northwest region. Local Libby nonprofits and community volunteers got together with the idea to support similar resources and trainings. Looking for help, they reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help the Montana Nonprofit Association hire a local expert to connect Libby’s nonprofits with resources, training opportunities, and each other, ensuring these essential community organizations can continue serving local residents for years to come.
