Launching a Local Football Program Makes the Sport Accessible to More Kids

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent Schools
  • Date Funded: August 2, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

The community of Questa does not have a local youth football program. Middle school youth wanting to play have to travel as far as Santa Fe to play, which is cost-prohibitive for many families. Questa’s athletic director reached out to LOR with a plan for launching a middle school program that the district could maintain; he just needed a little help getting it off the ground. LOR’s funding will support the purchase of helmets and pads, allowing sixth through ninth graders Questa to play locally.
