Lander Youth Gain Access to an E-Sports Team

  • Local Champion: Fremont County School District #1
  • Date Funded: December 6, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $9,997

Lander students who are not able to or interested in playing traditional sports lack the opportunity to be competitive and play on a team. A teacher and local gamer wanted to help address this by launching an e-sports team at Lander Valley High School, but the interest outpaced the equipment: There weren’t enough game consoles for all the students who wanted to participate. So the teacher reached out to LOR for help expanding the program to include all who wanted to play. LOR’s funding will support the purchase of additional game consoles, controllers, and headsets.
