Information and Exposure Connect Cortez Residents to Local Grain Systems

  • Local Champion: Pueblo Seed and Grain Hub
  • Date Funded: March 5, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,798

Many Cortez residents don’t know about the Pueblo Seed and Grain Bakehouse or the educational resources available through the connected Pueblo Seed and Grain Hub, limiting community engagement with local food systems. Pueblo Seed and Food Company’s co-founders wanted to share local knowledge about whole grains, culturally relevant food, and the hub’s new infrastructure, so they came up with a solution. LOR’s funding helped Pueblo Seed and Food install street and building signs, set up an interactive touchscreen for self-directed learning, purchase uniforms, and add EBT payment capabilities. The outreach and exposure will connect more Cortez residents to southwest Colorado’s grains, strengthening local food system knowledge.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation.
