Hydration Stations Help Libby Athletes Reach Peak Performance

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: September 5, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $3,362

Proper hydration is crucial for athletes. Fluids help the body absorb oxygen and muscles function, both of which affect performance. Despite its importance, hydration has been a long-running challenge for Libby’s student athletes. Libby Public School’s outdoor fields are not equipped with adequate access to drinking water, leaving the district’s athletes unable to perform to their full potential. One teacher and coach had the idea to purchase mobile drink and hydration stations, a project that would help several sports programs with a single solution. In need of support, he reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help Libby Public Schools buy two drink stations with filters and a portable Cramer Power Flo 50 Hydration Station, benefiting Libby’s youth athletes from track and field to football and soccer.
