Home Goods Help Residents Settle into Permanent Housing in Cortez

  • Local Champion: Piñon Project
  • Date Funded: March 5, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Since opening a year ago, the Piñon Project’s Tawi Kaan permanent supportive housing complex has been full. The problem is Cortez residents moving into the complex after homelessness or incarceration often arrive without basic household items like sheets, towels, dishes, or cleaning supplies. Hoping to ease the transition for residents, one Piñon Project staff member shared their solution with LOR. LOR’s funding will help the Piñon Project purchase bed linens, pillows, towels, dishes, and cleaning supplies, making the apartments feel more like home for new residents.
