Emergency Kits Help Libby Residents Weather Disasters

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County
  • Date Funded: December 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

Libby is experiencing multiple disasters involving floods, wind, and extended power outages, leaving some residents stranded without basic emergency supplies. The problem is many vulnerable families lack the money to purchase flashlights, batteries, water, blankets, and other essential supplies. Lincoln County staff wanted to help Libby’s most vulnerable residents negotiate emergencies safely, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Lincoln County purchase 50 emergency kits containing flashlights, batteries, hygiene supplies, water, blankets, emergency tools, and battery banks for charging phones. The kits will ensure access to essential supplies when normal services are disrupted, allowing residents to remain safely in their homes during crises.
