Furnishings Assure Readiness and Comfort for Questa’s EMS Staff

  • Local Champion: Village Of Questa
  • Date Funded: April 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $4,055

Questa’s emergency medical services (EMS) staff work long overnight shifts, so rest is critical for ensuring they are ready to respond at a moment’s notice. But finding time to rest continues to be a challenge for Questa’s EMTs. Without updates in over 20 years, the agency’s living and sleeping quarters are crumbling, with mattresses so worn that springs are poking through. EMS and village leaders wanted to improve the well-being of first responders—and the community—so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Village of Questa and the Questa Fire/EMS Department purchase new furniture and equipment, including beds, blankets, pillows, a stove, and living room furniture for the EMS station. The improvements will help Questa’s emergency responders stay prepared for when residents need assistance.
