Event Equipment Helps Libby Relaunch a Beloved Gravel Bike Race

  • Local Champion: Libby Parks District
  • Date Funded: March 6, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

For more than 25 years, Libby’s annual STOKR gravel bike race attracted riders from far and wide, becoming so popular that participants had to enter a lottery just to compete. But after the event’s original organizers retired in 2020, the beloved event ended. One Libby Parks District staffer wanted to revive this tradition, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Parks District purchase equipment including tents, tables, chairs, signs, and water stations needed to relaunch the gravel ride as a sustainable annual event. The revived race will bring cycling enthusiasts back to Libby, boosting local businesses while generating funds that the parks district can reinvest in other community recreation projects.
